Pitchfork Breaks the news: Redd Kross Sign to Merge for New Album Researching the Blues is their first record in 15 years May 7, 2012 Although the band has played several reunion shows since 2006, the last album from Los Angeles punk institution Redd Kross came out in 1997. So it’s taken 15 years, but the band has announced a new album, Researching the Blues, out August 7 on Merge. The album was recorded with the same lineup that appears on 1987’s Neurotica: brothers Jeff McDonald and Steven McDonald (also of OFF!), Roy McDonald, and Robert Hecker. The band is set to headline the HoZac Blackout Fest in Chicago on May 19 and play the Triple Rock Social Club in Minneapolis on May 18. More tour dates will be announced later this year.
